Present moment potency!
What makes the present moment so potent, Is the thing called reality.
This simple sutra maybe gives you a hint on why I think Mindfulnesscoaching is one of the most powerful methods for human transformation. The only moment you will ever experience is this. Reality only happens now. Hence this moment is the gateway to access everything and this moment is where the potential of your life is available for you.
Working obsessively with future visions and goals can be our greatest detour. A detour that actually keeps us from achieving what we really long for in life. Because time works backwards. We attract the future from this moment. If we learn to be present and cultivate what is quality in our life in this moment, the rest will follow more or less by itself. To fantasize goals and then trying to force the universe into that fantasy, can not only be the least effective and most strenuous way of achieving something, its also the way of achievement that causes most suffering since it conditions the mind to never be content (until reality is as the fantasy). With this approach, when/if we reach the goal, there might be a burst of contentment, but then it will pivot back to discontentment and finding a new fantasy goal to chase after, since this is what we conditioned the mind to be strong at.
Not that there is anything wrong with the goals themselves, but to think that you are the one achieving them is the big mistake. You haven’t done anything by yourself in life. And all the opportunities that needs to arise for anything to happen, takes the cooperation of the entire universe. Reading this text for example, did you plan it or did it come as a pleasant (or unpleasant) surprise following another event?
And to not question you goals thoroughly is another mistake we often do. Many are we that found ourselves on top of the ladder we struggled to climb, and not liking the view. Do you actually want to go where you are heading now? What does that mean for all aspects of your life if you reach this goal of yours? How can you possibly know how great your life can be? Again, if we cultivate the qualities we want and what’s important for us in this moment, you might reacht the goals or not but reagardless you will have what’s important to you. That’s a shortcut worth its name! And this is one of the reasons I say that work, or running a business, can be something you haven’t even dreamt about – it can be effortless! We just have to use the power of mindfulness in the right way.
How to cultivate the potency of the present moment – schedule a Mindfulness coaching session now.

Worthless.
We have been conditioned to value what’s expansive, not what is good. We have been indoctrinated to believe that money is the value, when it’s merely a symbol of value. Value is the real value. What you just bought and hold in your hand is the value, not the money you paid, that’s just the symbol of value. Still we feel we just been ripped off.
This may seems like another worthless reflection from the Conscious Business philosopher, but if you set out to create a life full of value instead of a bank account full of money, you will have dramatically different result! The difference will be in life quality; one direction will have it, the other not. If you have a business with the aim of creating value or a business with the aim of creating money you will have completely different results. Aim for money and any excuse to cover up better knowing will do as long as it makes money. Aim to create value and you see that doing harm to anyone or anything on this planet is obviously not enhancing value. And since money is the way we value value today, you will make a lot of money as well as having a meaningful, joyous and sustainable business.
Just for a few decades has this new set of value system been created in the human mind where value is being confused with money. We can easily notice it when we buy or invest in something and FEEL we lost something when paying for it. We notice it when running our business or working doesn’t feel meaningful. We notice it when all the small wonders in life doesn’t count anymore. These few decades with money as the new God, was enough to turn men playing, laughing and having fun while creating beauty and art into worthlessness. It was enough to make women sharing their thoughts and emotions in circles into meaningless waste of time. It was enough to make someone staying home with their children something not valuable. It was enough to turn love-making into a something we can prioritize only when “everything else is done”. It was enough to make me feel not good enough most of the time when growing up. I have changed that. In my world value is what’s worth something for me in reality, and money is a symbol for value. This enables me to live a rich life creating more value around me. This doesn’t mean that money doesn’t flow through my life, of course it does, thats how value is valued today – with money.

How to turn your business into a conscious business 2017 – the “inner why”
How can 2017 be the year when your business turns into a conscious business? Here is a very good start:
– BUILD or REBUILD YOUR BUSINESS BASED ON YOUR “INNER WHY”.
This is where the big leverage of motivation and passion is found. This is the only clue universe gives us on what our unique contribution to humanity is. And any business coach will tell you that finding that inner why is the most important thing. But who will tell you how to find that inner why? Most of the times the inner why that ends up on paper turns out to be a mental construct an excuse to why we are doing a certain business. Often beautiful excuses that lifts the image of the business up. However political correct or how attractive it may look in the business plan, it may not have anything to do with your inner why as a leader. And you know it when passion and motivation runs dry a year after running the business and you find yourself struggling, stressing and feeling pressure but force yourself to say; “I love it!”.
So how to find the real inner why and not the smart mental excuse for doing what we think we shall do? The excuses are in fact based on fear although we are not aware of it. Somewhere we have a fear that what we do is not good enough, people will not like it enough and we will not make enough money from it. That’s why we settle with a smart mental construct that fits our desired image of our selves and the world although maybe not in contact with our real self and the world as it is.
The solution is to be without fears and the inner why will appear. Questions like; “what would I do if I had all the money in the world” or “what would I do regardless if I where paid or not” or “looking back on life from your death bed, what would you like to see that you contributed with” may help to guide. But the mind can easily trick us also with those questions and we might be effected by the state we are in that moment. And again we have created beautiful mental constructs that look great on paper but have anything to do with our true calling. So what to do?
To find truth you need stillness. Only in stillness can truth appear. It’s not when we are the most excited or “positive” about things that we are in most contact with our true nature. It’s when we are in harmony and have a peaceful mind that clarity is there. That’s when the silent whispers of our hearts can be heard. Putting you in a “peak state” and then asking yourself about important question is as helpful for the long term sustainability as being in our most depressive state. If answering form any of those two states we create a foundation of our business on the most temporary and short-lived parts of the wave, the bottom and the top. Instead we need to create the foundation from what the wave consists of – water. That essence of our being, the water, is stillness. In stillness everything appears and disappears. This is the space for any specific temporary state. Stillness is there before and it is there after.
The problem is that this thing we call stillness appears to be difficult for the modern mind to recognise because it’s not given any appreciation in our culture. In our culture only activity is valued. That activity only can happen on the background of stillness, just like these words need a white background to be seen, is ignored out of habitual ignorance.
In stillness things become clear. In storms (big waves) its difficult to feel what is most important. Instead we react on old habits and protect what we think needs to be protected from the strong wind. Usually this means protecting our ego – the preconditioned image of our selves. Enough about that for now.
So here is my suggestion to find your inner why. Something that worked for myself and many of my clients:
-
LOOK BACK AT YOUR SNAIL TRAIL OF VALUE.
-
FIND STILLNESS AND LET THE ANSWERS COME.
1. Looking back on the snail trail of value. Imagine yourself or connect in real life with key people in your different phases of life like school and workplaces. Don’t exclude any of them. Ask what your contribution was during that period, what you brought in to the room you might say. Not so much the actual doings but why people benefited it was you and not anyone else doing those things. (If you imagine this exercise; imagine a reporter asking your teacher or boss and just listen to the answer.) Collect all answers on paper.
When you collected the answers from these different phases and places from your life – see the snail trail of value. The snail trail of value is the value that you seem to emanate regardless of place or what you do. You will be surprised to see that even if we changed a lot as persons over time we still glow a certain kind of light. The essence of who we are, that unique quality of light, is always present regardless of what we do or where.
It can often be helpful to do this exercise together with someone else, someone who can look at your value from the outside. Usually its much easier to see the snail trail of value for someone else then for yourself. It’s also easier for someone outside to see when we are turning “mental” that is constructing a smart favourable answer instead of just seeing the answer.
Sometimes I also invite a neutral outer perspective on a persons unique gift when having workshops or coaching a leader. This can be a personality test or as in the Camp in Bali; an Astrology reading. This can compliment beautifully and provide a perspective outside of our own box. From this perspective we can draw important insights regardless of If we agree with the reading or not.
2. Finding stillness and let the answers come. When you found your snail trail of value by looking back, you can from that perspective invite stillness and then ask yourself some well-directed questions. Remember to not answer the question but instead listen to the answers appearing. It may seem as a subtle difference but is as comparing a light bulb to the sun. You will get the hang of it if stillness is there I am sure. (If stillness is not there, don’t bother asking the questions right now.) To help further, you can imagine you need to be quiet enough to hear the heart whisper and if no answer is coming, you can always ask again some other time. No hurry for truth ever results in truth.
The well-directed questions are:
– What seem to be my driving forces?
– What seems to be values that are really important for me?
– What kind of people seems to be the one I like to help and support?
– What kind of people seems to be the ones I like to work together with?
The whole first step of looking for the snail trail of value is taking us into a fearlessness seeing our unique value instead of our lack and what we don’t yet have achieved. The second step to find stillness and allow answers to appear provides with truth.
The combination of your snail trail of value and the answers to the well-directed questions can represent your inner why. It combines your souls unique contribution to a situation regardless of what you do, with what motivates and inspires your essence to be creative, what values that is important and what people that you resonate with and want to support. Now that’s a strong foundation to start building a business, not just a smart mental construct! And that foundation is based on consciousness about our true essence – a conscious business is starting to grow.

LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES!
Do you remember that box of mixed chocolates the grown ups had on the table when you where young? You know it’s all good, but some pralines just tastes crap!
I say its all good even if some parts of life taste crap. “-But is it all good, or is this just a thing you coaches are supposed to say now and again to convince yourself,” someone might ask.
I don’t know that of course but if you do like me and look back on your worst “failures”, “mistakes” and “crises” – the crappy pralines in the box – I’ll bet they are the point of growth for you as for me. In retrospect the crappy tastiing praline is a great gift that set you off into a more beneficial direction and made you what you are today. They maybe tasted crap at the time but they where still chocolate! And chocolate is good!
…And what difference can this make for me?
What can this approach do for you in this moment when maybe something gives you a not so good taste in the mouth, when life seems to conspire against you? Don’t you lick yourself around the mouth and say; “its chocolate and its good!”, with a big smile on your face? I think you will. And compare it to the approach that life consists of “good” experiences and “bad” experiences. The smile will not come as easily if you think you just enter into a “bad” one…
The mind have a tendency to value things as good and bad, beneficial or non beneficial. In reality it’s only as it is and that “is:ness” is NOW. Actually there is no mistakes in universe. Because it can never be in any other way in this moment. And this moment is all that exists, and ever will exist. How can a mistake exist if it can be in no other way? Also, as quantum physics pointed out – there is no single separate event in Universe. So it took the whole universe to make this moment. To make you. It’s all chocolate.

DISSATISFACTION!
Where does it live? Get to the root cause of dissatisfaction is only possible if you find where it exists. If it lives within you – that is also where the cause is found. Now, this doesn´t mean that you cant change things. But if we only change environment when we feel dissatisfaction, that is the pattern we will strengthen. Something will always need to change in order for us to feel satisfied. That means that we give all our power to outer circumstances. We become victims to what other people do. Thats just not a smart strategy in the long run.
I used to live mostly like a reaction to outer circumstances. The will to find truth and to end my dissatisfaction and other modes of suffering led me to make constant self awareness the most important thing in life. With that came in-sights. Important in-sights that made me more and more free of the whims of the outer environment. Hence less and less a victim to other people and the events of universe. This regardless of if I was managing a project, trying to love my dissatisfied lover or dealing with a tax audit. Thats why I kept self awareness as the most important thing in life. It gradually makes life more of what I want it to be and me a more powerful force of what I want me to be. …Whoever this “I” am.

WHO THE F*CK ARE YOU TO JUDGE?
“Most people I know are not as they supposed to be. They are behaving improperly and weird and should really take a look at themselves! Some are better then me though, but most are worse.”
Well, if I would listen to my mind this would be my reality. Its cultivated to evaluate, compare and judge. But really, who the f*ck am I to judge in universe? Before that cultivation, when I was a baby like on the picture, my mind was free from the habit of judging and comparing. The mind just perceived reality as it was; life happening in universe. The mind reacted to its instincts to attract food and love, but there was no thinking going on, it wasn’t “trying” to get love. There were no stories regarding that “dirty” guy with the tattoos or the “fat” girl in the cafe or the “un-cool kid” in the class or the “notsolovingassheshouldbe partner” in front of the tv.
Living a conscious life in mindfulness is to cultivate a beginners mind. A mind that is pure and can see things without the filter of judgments. Like the baby, but with consciousness. Every moment is fresh, new and interesting. People love to be around those people that have no judgments. People have a possibility to grow and evolve around a person that has no judgments. We see ourselves more clearly in the mirror of people that has no judgements. We are less scared to see ourselves in the mirror of people that has no judgments. Isn’t it so? Think about people that “take energy” to be around, and people that “gives energy” to be around.
In practicality, cultivating a beginners mind without judgement is mostly a un-cultivation of the mind. To see where judgments arise in the mind by automatic and just BE AWARE of them (without judging them) instead of BEING them; “he is dirty, she is fat, my partner isnotaslovingassheshouldbe etc”. By time the automation to judge and compare dissolve by itself and becomes weaker and weaker – the mind gets purified.

Artist: The model “Little Jonas” completely is innocent. He has no idea that he is a model and will exposed and used by the “Big Jonas” year 2016 in a blog post. He doesn’t even know “blog” or “2016” or “years” or “time” for that instance. Mama Faremo however has a broad artist vein running in her body and when younger painted paintings that decorated the walls of our house. Hopefully she picks up the brush again.
